— Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares today said that Elias Deligiannis, 33, of Guilderland, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted assault in the first degree, a class C violent felony, before Judge Peter A. Lynch this morning in Albany County Court.

On March 30, shortly after midnight, Deligiannis stabbed a man repeatedly in the head, torso, and appendages after the parties were engaged in an argument at a residence in Colonie. The victim suffered a punctured lung and multiple stab wounds that required surgery.

Deligiannis remains in custody and will receive between 8 and 10 years in state prison, to be followed by 5 years of post-release supervision, when sentenced on June 13.
