Guilderland man pleads guilty in Colonie stabbing
ALBANY Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares today said that Elias Deligiannis, 33, of Guilderland, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted assault in the first degree, a class C violent felony, before Judge Peter A. Lynch this morning in Albany County Court.
On March 30, shortly after midnight, Deligiannis stabbed a man repeatedly in the head, torso, and appendages after the parties were engaged in an argument at a residence in Colonie. The victim suffered a punctured lung and multiple stab wounds that required surgery.
Deligiannis remains in custody and will receive between 8 and 10 years in state prison, to be followed by 5 years of post-release supervision, when sentenced on June 13.
