— Two people were accused of making methamphetamine in a village home after a Wednesday afternoon raid.

Cobleskill police and state troopers executed a search warrant at the home of Laura K. Kieru, 28, of 104 Bridge St., as part of an ongoing investigation into drug sales in the area. Police said they seized components of a portable methamphetamine production system and ingredients for the drug, which were subsequently turned over to a hazardous waste hauler for disposal.

Police charged Christopher Clark Woods, 27, of Richmondville, with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a felony. He was also charged as a fugitive from justice, as police said he was wanted in Tennessee for violating his probation on another methamphetamine arrest.

Kieru, meanwhile, was also charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, as well as a misdemeanor count of fifth-degree conspiracy.

Woods was sent to the Schoharie County jail without bail, while Kieru was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. Both are scheduled to return to Cobleskill Town Court at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said their investigation is continuing, and additional charges are expected.

Anyone with information on this case or other drug activity in the community is asked to call Cobleskill police Sgt. Rich Bialkowski at 234-2923. All information will remain confidential.
