NYer who admitted rape, murder pleads in porn case
SYRACUSE — An upstate New York man who has pleaded guilty to raping a 10-year-old girl and killing her mother now admits possessing more than 3,000 images and hundreds of videos of child pornography on his computer.
David Renz pleaded guilty in federal court in Syracuse Friday to a six-count indictment charging him with receiving and possessing child porn over the Internet.
The 29-year-old already faces life in prison without the possibility of parole after admitting in Onondaga County Court earlier this year that he cut off an electronic monitoring bracelet and then carjacked a mother and daughter at a central New York mall on March 14. He killed the mother as she fought to stop the rape.
He'd been wearing the bracelet as a condition of release on the federal pornography charges.
