— Two of CDPHP’s Medicare plans were deemed high quality by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The Albany-based health insurer received 4.5 out of 5 stars from CMS for its Medicare HMO and PPO plans. The overall scores are based on several categories, including screenings, tests, vaccines, management of chronic conditions, member experience with the health plan, member complaints and health plan customer service.

In September, the National Committee for Quality Assurance ranked CDPHP Medicare Choices HMO the best in the state.

The open enrollment period for Medicare runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
