State lawmakers, local parents and educators are urging the state Education Department to follow through on its promise to reschedule four recently canceled town hall-style meetings. Abolish the Regents. Bring SED under governor's control like all other departments. This will replace the weak farcical figure heads with hacks who make no claim to know how to educate. At least then, transparency will replace the false sense that they know what they are doing....They don't. The real work of supporting and assessing local school districts is done by private entities, not SED or the Regents.
