Unemployment rates fall in August in Capital Region counties

Unemployment fell across the Capital Region in August, mirroring state and national trends, according to preliminary figures released today by the state Labor Department. The unemployment rate for the Albany-Schenectady-Troy area was 6.3 percent in August, down from 6.4 percent one month earlier and 7.5 percent one year earlier.
