Irv supervises the nightside local news gathering, editing and display, in collaboration with the news editor. He is a veteran of 40 years in the business, having started as a teenager when he landed a job as a gofer at The Post-Star in Glens Falls. Within a decade, he had risen to the position of managing editor. He has also held positions with the former Knickerbocker News in Albany and the Antelope Valley Press in Palmdale, Calif.
