Karen joined the Gazette in 1990 and has been writing about visual arts and museums since 1999. She grew up in Buffalo and holds a master’s degree in journalism from the Ohio State University. Karen has worked as a copy editor, wire editor and writer at the San Diego Tribune, The Buffalo News and Niagara Falls Gazette. In 2006 and 2007, she won state Associated Press awards for her writing.
