Kelly de la Rocha is a general assignment reporter at The Daily Gazette. She is happiest when she can share "good news" with Gazette readers -- profiles of amazing people, stories that inspire and ones that remind everyone what a great place the Capital Region is. Kelly grew up in Charlton and is a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and SUNY Oneonta. She started working at the Gazette in 1996, then after two years, moved with her family to Pennsylvania. While there, she edited a parenting newspaper and wrote for regional publications across the country. She and her family moved back to the Capital Region in 2006 and it wasn't long after that she began writing for the Gazette again.
When she's not writing for work, she writes for fun. Her poetry has been published in chapbooks and in several print and e-publications.
Kelly's other loves are volunteering, hiking, biking and cross-country skiing. She has a love-hate relationship with gardening.
She lives in Glenville with her husband, two children and three lazy cats.
