Patrick was born and raised in North Branford, CT and moved to Albany to study journalism and art at the University at Albany in 2006. There he was involved with University Photo Service, Torch Yearbook, Albany Student Press, and WCDB 90.9FM. He held internships at Freedom from Hunger in Bolivia, the Berkshire Eagle, the Albany Times Union, and has freelanced for various blogs, national and international newspapers and magazines, and worked briefly as an internet marketing specialist after college. He has won various awards for his photojournalism work, including a first place feature photo award from the New England Press Association’s yearly awards in 2008, and repeat choice for Metroland’s yearly “Best Print Photographer” title. Patrick started working for the Daily Gazette in June 2011.
