Shelley attended SUNY Farmingdale with a major in Advertising Art & Design. Shelley started at The Gazette in 1990 as a Graphic Artist, and soon promoted to Pre-Press Manager. She is responsible for the ad production which includes scheduling and designing in a timely matter. With tight deadlines the pre-press staff works with the sales staff, press room, and Editorial Staff as well as the advertiser. Many of the ads we receive are in a PDF format and require extra diagnosis. Pre-press is also responsible for the layout of the entire newspaper, outputting of pages, making negatives and plates for the press room. Pre-press also is responsible for the uploading of the entire newspaper in PDF format, for the paid electronic newspaper. Two shifts are required in pre-press: day shift 8 am - 4 pm contact 518-395-3051 and evening shift 4pm - 3 am contact 518-395-3065.
