Paul_Schenectady,

Your comment is not only cruel and insensitive towards the family of Ms. Mangar, but it also demonstrates your ignorance. The decline of Schenectady is attributed to the mass exodus of people from Schenectady, not into Schenectady. A great majority of the people moving into Schenectady are in pursuit of the same dream that your ancestry pursued. That is the American dream that hard work, courage and determination would lead to a better life for themselves and their families. The crime in Schenectady is not attributed to most of the people moving here, but is attributed to the lack of opportunity, vision and the encouragement of business development from the political leaders of Schenectady. This lack of vision has led to the greatest decline of Schenectady, which occurred when GE moved many of their jobs out of Schenectady.

Instead of accusing many of the hardworking Guyanese people of Schenectady of the problems in the city, maybe you should join them in trying to create jobs and bring businesses to the area. You are a true example of those who can’t, find fault.
