Yet another reminder to vote CHANGE at the local and state levels... Our governor has put off addressing radical change until after the election when his cohorts are all re-elected and settled in for a couple more years. PLEASE, remember that if you trully want CHANGE to address it from the bottom up. I could care less at this point who anyone is voting for President. Vote CHANGE locally!!! The clowns have been running this country into the ground before... and long after the next President will be in office.
the analogy at the end of your post is EXCELLENT. All sides are responsible and for the last year to two neither side is allowing anything to be accomplished because they dont want that credit earned to be used as election collateral
meanwhile we all get to feel that collateral... collateral damage that is.
you see, Resident is exactly part of the problem. You do realize that the Dems control the House and Senate. These people are the real driving force behind poliocies. They like to take credit when things are going well and then blame the President when things arent. If you want TRUE change... you better vote for more than a different President.
I still am not sure which way I will vote for Presdient but one thing is for sure... if Obama wins, the Democrats nolonger have any more excuses as to why the House and Senate are failing miserably.
Due your leg work, make the changes from the bottom up. Blaming everything on the President while re-electing those in the House and Senate ... and even down here at the local and state level will only leave you with the same issues. *NEWS FLASH* the President AND the House AND the Senate are ALL responsible for the predicament the country is in.
if anyone believes that the Presidential election is going to fix the problems.... regardless of the winner, you may want to read up a bit more.
The Democrats and Republicans are equally responsible for the troubles we are in today. Hell, Palosi herself said when she became speaker that she would do whatever she could to make Bush a lame duck for the remainder of his Presidency. This behavior is beyond irresponsible. Shes being paid to try to work hand in hand with others to get things done for all of the US citizens.
The Democrats now are using tactics all over the country to get elected. They are trying to tie every Republican to Bush at all levels... yet many Dems have supported Bush from time to time.
I guess this came off as anti-democrat but my point is as has happened in many elections... IGNORE the bullshiat. Make sure you are paying close attention to the Senators and Congress (men and Women) that you are electing. These are the people involved in all levels of decision making. Many of them are partly responsible for the issues we face today. Blaming everything on the current President is just a way to get elected/reelected. He hasnt been perfect by any stretch but neither have the Senate nor House.
One thing ive always found disturbing is that many Americans get pissed about things and they find it VERY easy to blame just one person... often the President. He is obviously the most public and identifiable source. The problem is that so many of the Senate and House are just as responsible for the problems AND the attempted solutions that we all face.
If I could say one thing to voters...
Make sure you START LOCAL and work your way up in demanding change... not the top down. If we change President we may see some change but to trully see significant change we need it to start close to home and make sure everyone is accountable... not just creating a skapegoat President and leaving the same people in charge of the issues that affect us so greatly.
People in this neighborhood claim they are "surprised"? Lets not also forget that within the last year a kid was shot and killed at the top of the hill on Becker between Division and Furman right in front of St Claires hospital.
I will remind these people that moved up from the NYC area. The crime rate ESPECIALLY in that neighborhood was almost NONE until the mass exodus from NYCity to the capital region. If you moved from one place to another to get away from the crime etc. and now that place has those problems... YOU just might be the problem
i understand that the police have been involved with some criminal beahvior... but it looks like they are attempting to weed that out. None of that distorts the facts when looking at Hamilton Hill. Its nothing more than blight.
I would steer clear of this area and let these people rob, rape and steal from each other. I'll bet the parents of these kids are the ones complaining about how dangerous it is and wondering why the police dont do something about it.
