WOW...I cannot believe the amount of people who are still considering these five cops innocent. Have that not heard about the justice system or are they just choosing to ignore it in order to allow these five officers to appear guilty because it gives them something to complain about? The Schenectady community needs to wake up and see what it actually going on right before their eyes. The criminals are running the damn city because police officers are not allowed to do their job. Mybigfamilyof9 seems to fail to realize that this career criminal who claims abuse of the police officers failed to show any visible marks that would lead anyone to believe he was "beat-up"! As for being idols for the youth of Schenectady, the parents and the children don't want the police officers to be their idols. Let's start placing the blame of the failures of the city on the true dysfuntional members, like the drug dealers, prostitutes and druggies!

I can't believe the AGs office is going to appeal this nonsense. Govenor Patterson is cutting New York State's budget to the point of almost nonexistence and we are going to allow the Attorney General's office to waste taxpayer dollars on such a frivilous matter! Taxpayers should be appalled and demand a stop to this witch hunt of five police officers who were doing their job. This case has gone beyond ridiculous.

There is finally some sense of justification for the five police officers, their family, friends and coworkers! What they have been saying for almost 1 year now has been reitterated by the criminal justice system. Now all we can hope is the Schenectady Police Department and the Mayor stop the insanity and let these men back to work so that they can support their families. Yes, I know they were getting paid while out (for the most part), but you have to understand that many police officers are the only income for their household and, therefore, they are not able to support their wives and children without overtime.

To Stefinschdy and capregionfirl, thank you! As a family member to a Schenectady Police officer, it so nice to hear that their are members of our community that see what is really going on in our city. The stories I hear are not just for my ears, but you see it happening too. I have said it before and I will say it again, "the city of Schenectady is being run by its criminals." If something is not done soon, Mayor Stratton, Commissioner Bennett or anyother person in that department isn't going to stand a chance in hell.

As for this case, what a disaster! This is a case of politics getting involved with police work and five guys are taking the fall for it. As for the Use of Force form that wasn't completed, please. Mr. Red Herring, are you kidding me. Do you have anything better to do with your time other than trying to make the lives of Schenectady police officers and their family members more stressful? You are relying on information from the media, which let's be honest is never 100% accurate, and jumping to conclusions before knowing the details. Just remember, you can't believe everything you read in the paper.

It is good to hear support for our officers and I hope it transfers to other community members:)

On Should three Schenectady police officers face criminal charges for allegedly failing to fill out paperwork related to the use of force on a drunken driving suspect in December 2007?

I am so sick and tired of hearing that all of the Schenectady Police officers are vigilanties. When was the last time you, Mr. Red Herring, put on a bullet proof vest, strapped your gun to your waste and walked in the line of fire, like these men and women do every day? Honestly, I am finding it hard to believe that every single member of the police department in the city acts inappropriately all of the time and the citizens are just innocent victims. How would you like to have rocks thrown at you or spit at while working? Believe it or not, we don't get to see or feel what the officers are going through when they are faced with criminals, so how are we to judge? Not to mention, the grand jury for the NYS Attorney General did not find any reason to indict these men on assault charges or any other form of misconduct other than not completing a form. I think it is fair to say that they acted appropriately.
