Woodlawn parking garage to get car charging stations
Saratoga Springs officials will consider an agreement on Tuesday to bring two electric car charging stations to the Woodlawn Avenue parking garage.
A proposed contract between the city and Car Charging Group Inc., which is a Florida-based contractor, is available below.
The agreement won't cost the city anything, with the stations funded by fees paid by drivers who use the station. The city is due 10 percent of the revenue collected from the fees, according to the agreement.
Fees to drivers are "based on an hourly basis," says the agreement with the city. "These fees can change throughout the day to take advantage of off-peak electricity rates," it reads.
Any city-owned electric vehicles will receive a different rate than is being charged the public.
The agreement also refers to a possible phase two, which would consist of the installation of at least four additional charges in two spots.
CCGI responded to a request for information that the city sent out last year about installing charging stations.
