Alleged hazing costs Skidmore team
Skidmore College won’t have a men’s soccer team this season.
President Philip Glotzbach canceled the team’s season Thursday after team members allegedly hazed rookies.
In a letter to the Skidmore community, Glotzbach wrote that the hazing happened during “Rookie Night” on Nov. 30. The event involved alcohol, but Glotzbach did not offer specifics.
The entire letter is available below. Read the initial story on the suspensions HERE.
"As difficult as this is for all who are directly involved in this matter, as well as for everyone who cares about Skidmore, we see evidence already that important lessons are being learned, and we are confident that the actions we are taking in the end will make us all wiser and our athletics program stronger," Glotzbach concluded in his letter.
