Potato chip-makers selling business

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Danny and Shelly Jameson, owners of Saratoga Specialties Co., makers of the Original Saratoga Chips, Original Saratoga Dip mixes, and the For Goodness Shakes, said today they are planning to sell the business.

Jameson said he and his wife are actively searching for a successor to take over the growing business to meet increasing demands.

"Shelly and I started this business as a way to feed our family after having been laid off at the end of 2008," said Jameson, the president of Saratoga Specialties Co.

"What started as a simple business with the simple mission of reintroducing the Saratoga Chip to the local market has evolved to a full-blown company with nearly 20 products selling at hundreds of retail outlets coast to coast," Jameson said in a statement.

The sale of the company includes a debt-free operational business, the Moon Brand Trademark protected packaging, extensive customer lists, all copyrighted artwork and images, receivables, inventory, point of sale display racks, all office equipment, vendor lists, all guarded product recipes and formulas and a complete transfer of all associated intellectual property, Jameson said.

Jameson said he wants to reassure supporters, fans, and customers that the business will continue to operate as usual up to and through the transition. For more information contact: sales@originalsaratogachips.com or by telephone 328-9175.
