Congress Plaza hotel under consideration

City officials will review a plan this week for a Congress Plaza Hotel.

The Saratoga Springs Planning Board Agenda for Wednesday includes a site plan review of a hotel and restaurant at 46 Congress Street.

The full agenda is available below.

The city's Design Review Commission looked at plans for a six-story hotel during an October meeting. That plan would demolish some of the existing structures, but the CVS Pharmacy on the property would remain.

The proposal is a multimillion dollar project from DCG Development Co. of Clifton Park. DCG Development Co. is owned by Donald C. Greene, who developed the plaza about 30 years ago.

Developers had hoped to show their proposal to the planning board before the end of 2012, according to a statement the project architect made to the Gazette last fall.
