21st century sheriff's race

Republican candidates for Saratoga County Sheriff are embracing social media and the internet for their campaigns.

The latest technological venture has been made by Michael Zurlo, who has unveiled a campaign website. He is also on Youtube, with a campaign video at the bottom of this page.

"Voters want and need information about who is running for Saratoga County Sheriff," Zurlo said in a statement. "Launching a website makes sense, and if elected to serve, I will continue to utilize the World Wide Web and Social Media to regularly disseminate important information to the people of our county.”

A website from Jack Sadousky is expected in the near future.

Both candidates are already on Twitter, with Sadousky found at @Sadousky2013 and Zurlo at @ZurloforSheriff. Both are on Facebook too.

This is a big change from the last time this was an open seat about half a century ago.

According to Zurlo's Facebook page, he was recently endorsed by the Mechanicville Republican Committee. Both candidates interviewed on Monday night with the Corinth Republican Committee, based on their Facebook pages.
