"Friends" producer comes to area for fundraiser
MILTON - One of the brains behind the hit sitcom "Friends" is coming to the Saratoga Winery on Saturday to attend a benefit for the Gateway House of Peace.
Kevin Bright will bring a boxed set DVD collection of the show he worked on to be a special raffle item at the event, which runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Gateway House of Peace is a not-for-profit charitable hospice that cares for the terminally ill members of the community.
A $25 donation gets an attendee one free wine tasting and foo, which was donated by Factory Eatery, Comptons Restaurant, Bread Basket Bakery, and other local restaurants. Entertainment will include the jazz styling of Tom Choiniere.
"For the past two years, a team of dedicated volunteers have been working hard to establish a safe, nurturing, home-like environment free of charge for those under the medical care of Community Hospice in Saratoga Springs," said Joni Hanchett, founder of Gateway House. "So far, our volunteers have made many of the major building repairs."
Donations can be made at www.gatewayhouseofpeace.org or mailed to 479 Rowland Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
