I've been trying to feel positive about youth. But going into the Dunkin' Donuts on State Street right next to McDonald’s for my daily fix of an Orange Coolatta — no whipped cream, please — I ask for the tip cup, because it’s not in it’s usual spot and was told by a sweet young thing that they have to hide it because kids keep coming in and stealing the money.

A shortage of robins

There seems to be a shortage of robins in my yard this year. Don’t get me wrong, my yard is teeming with birds and song but only a scant few or Red Breasts.

Shock and awe at QUEST

Last week we had shock and awe at our little bastion. So much good coming to our tiny island of hope.

Reading through our attendance list I note the children's many unique and unusual names. Thinking of all the hope they represented for the life of this new tiny person; looking at this young girl or boy I wonder where it will all lead.
