FMCC student wins technology award
FMCC electrical technology student Mary Cedillo of Johnstown recently received the New York State Engineering Technology Association (NYSETA) Scholarship in the amount of $500.
Cedillo is the treasurer for the Electrical Technology Club, an FMCC-sponsored club dedicated to furthering students' interest in electronics and computers. As part of the club's leadership, Cedillo played a major role providing opportunities for students to travel to the Boston science museum, attend a national electronics trade show, tour the R&D facility at Corning's Sullivan Park complex and observe engineering projects at West Point, said FMCC computer technology instructor Jeremy Spraggs.
Cedillo pursued an internship at Albany Nanotech and is currently working 24 hours per week in the cleanrooms at the facility.
