The Business Council of New York State has launched a website to promote products made in New York.

There are almost 400 companies from the state advertised on the site, with products that include food items, textiles, circuit boards and microchips. In addition to promoting manufacturers, the site will also highlight companies that sell products, tourist destinations and education opportunities unique to New York.

"Consumers who buy products and services sold by New York companies are actively helping to create jobs and strengthen our economy," said Heather Briccetti, president and CEO of The Business Council, in a statement. "Our new website is a terrific way to highlight and promote the wide range of products made by companies here in New York. We believe that by working together and buying 'Made in New York,' we can make a difference one purchase at a time."

Wynn Kintz, president of Kintz Plastics Inc. in Schoharie County, predicted that the new site will provide another tool to keep the business competitive.

Kenneth Adams, president and CEO and commissioner of Empire State Development, added "The Made in New York website will be an invaluable tool to promote business growth and showcase the extraordinary array of key services and successful companies that New York has to offer."
