Trade deadline movement

Former Albany River Rat and Adirondack Phantom Michael Leighton was dealt before the trade deadline as the Philadelphia Flyers swapped goalies with the Columbus Blue Jackets, getting Steve Mason for Leighton.

Leighton has not seen much action this season, going 1-1-0 with Adirondack with a goals-against average of 2.02 and a save percentage of .933. With Philly this season, he is 0-1-0 with a 5.08 GAA and .808 save percentage. Last season for Adirondack, he was 28-26-1 with a 2.58 GAA and .918 save percentage.

Mason is 3-6-1 with Columbus this season, showing a 2.95 GAA and .899 save percentage. Last season, he was 16-26-3 for Columbus with a 3.39 GAA and .894 save percentage.

Another name local fans will recognize is Cory Conacher, who was last year's MVP and Rookie of the Year in the AHL when in Norfolk. He had 39 goals and 41 assists over 75 games in that rookie campaign, then led the Admirals to the Calder Cup.

Tampa Bay traded Conacher to Ottawa for goalie Ben Bishop. Conacher has 12 goals and 16 assists in 36 games with the Syracuse Crunch this season, and in 35 games with Tampa Bay, he has nine goals and 15 assists, throwing his name in the mix for the Calder Trophy.

Bishop is 8-3-2 with Binghamton this season with a 2.59 GAA and .928 save percentage. With Ottawa this season, he is 8-5-0 with a 2.45 GAA and .922 save percentage.
