Gionta, Carter added to US roster

The United States' Men's National Team has added New Jersey Devils forwards Stephen Gionta and Ryan Carter to the roster for the 2013 tournament, which will take place May 3-19 in Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden.

Gionta played 11 games with Albany this season. He is the Devils' AHL all-time leader in games played (371), goals (58) and points (140). In 48 games with New Jersey this season, he had four goals and 10 assists.

Carter played 44 games with New Jersey this season, totaling six goals and nine assists. He played on the U.S. Men's National Team in the 2010 tournament.

The addition of the two Devils pushes the roster to 23 players, two shy of its maximum. Among the 12 forwards on the team is former Albany and New Jersey Devil Bobby Butler, who was claimed off waivers this season by the Nashville Predators on March 4.
