Anderson getting his first crack at NHL

Room was made Monday for one more player on the New Jersey Devils' roster when they sent Mattias Tedenby to the Albany Devils. On Tuesday, New Jersey filled that spot by recalling Matt Anderson.

Anderson has played six seasons in the AHL between the Chicago Wolves and Albany Devils, the last three (or two and a half so far) with Albany. In the AHL, he has 70 goals and 114 assists in 314 regular-season games. In 37 Calder Cup playoff games, he has five goals and 16 assists ... and one Calder Cup.

The Star-Ledger's Rich Chere tweeted that Anderson will skate the fourth line tonight with Jacob Josefson in tonight's game at Boston.
