Big double-header at UAlbany

UAlbany's men's and women's basketball team will be hosting Maine in a big double-header Saturday at SEFCU Arena.

The 11-3 women will tip off at 5 p.m. The defending America East Conference champions are coming off an eight-game road swing and will be paced by seniors Ebone Henry and Julie Forster, along with 6-foot-8 sophomore center Megan Craig and freshman Shareesha Richards, who has won several conference rookie of the week awards already this season.

Meanwhile, the UAlbany men (2-1, 13-4) have made a major move with their roster, adding Australians Sam Rowley and Peter Hooley and movng seniors Blake Metcalf and Jayson Guerrier to the bench. The Aussies were impressive in their debut against Binghamton last Monday. Rowley poured in 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Hooley chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds and four assists.

It should be a good test for both UAlbany squads. Don't forget that UAlbany will host the conference tournament for the next two seasons.
