A new kind of debate

Reporter Dave Lombardo, also known as Poozer, is moderating a Twitter debate this afternoon between U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko, a Democrat, and Glenville Republican Bob Dieterich.

Both are running for the right to represent voters in the 20th Congressional District.

The debate is being moderated by Dave (@Poozer87), with the candidates answering questions under the handles of @RepPaulTonko and @Dieterich2012. The entire debate will be RT'd by @GazettePolitics and @dgazette.

It should be interesting to watch (read?). Twitter's 140-word count limit should lead to brevity. And Twitter's structure will prevent one speaker from talking over the other.

Readers should also be able to get a good handle on each candidate's typing ability.
