Due to popular demand, here is the list of opponents the River Rats will face in 2008-09.
If you came here looking for somebody different, sorry to disappoint you. The Rats will once again play an unbalanced schedule led by 46 games against fellow East Division opponents.
They will also have 22 games against Atlantic Division foes, and the other 12 against, you guessed it, Syracuse and Rochester.
Here's the breakdown (home, away):
Hartford (1,1)
Lowell (2,2)
Manchester (1,1)
Portland (2,2)
Providence (1,1)
Springfield (2,2)
Worcester (2,2)
Binghamton (4,4)
Bridgeport (4,4)
Hershey (3,3)
Norfolk (4,4)
Philadelphia (4,4)
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (4,4)
Rochester (2,2)
Syracuse (4,4)
There you have it. Once again, the Rats will play their two closest geographical rivals, Springfield and Hartford, a total of six times, and they won't face their old assistant coach and leftover Avs prospects in Lake Erie.
Albany will also not play Grand Rapids, Hamilton, Mantioba, Toronto, Chicago, Iowa, Houston, Milwaukee, Peoria, Quad City, Rockford and San Antonio.
The entire AHL schedule is scheduled to be released around August 1.

Even in the off-season, still the best place to get Rats news!

Of course this is the best place to get Rats news. Phil is the best at doing what he can to cover the team. There is no one better than him. Now is it just me that gets frustrated at not being able to see some of these other teams come here to play. Teams like Chicago Houston teams that have been in the league forever and we still up to this date have never faced. I am sick of seeing Syracuse 8 times a year. They play in the western conference. I say knock off some of those game and let some of these other teams that we never get to see come in here every now and then.

And also the best part about Phil is the man is on vacation and still we get updates on the Rats from him. What a wonderfull reporter he is.

Even if he was so what. He is still the best in the area at covering the Rats. This man bends over backwards to make sure the Rats get covered.

Crossgates Mall? Sorry, George. I was nowhere near the place. Did go to the Boardwalk Mall for about 10 minutes last week, 300 miles away. Other than that, I was a beach bum (instead of just a bum).
And, Sandpiper and Scott, thanks for the kind words. Sure is nice to see when I got back.
