See Dick. See Dick talk. Shut up Dick.

I have been away for a few weeks visiting my dad in Mexico and trying not to pay attention to what's going on here, trying to give myself a break.

But I just can't seem to help myself.

Actually this blog's title could apply to several of whom we call “political leaders”.

First we have former Vice President Dick Cheney, who was interviewed recently on the FOX entertainment network by Sean Hannity, saying that President Barack Obama “would rather spend the money on food stamps than he would on a strong military or support for our troops.”

Pretty big talk for a man, who along with the actual functioning Vice President at the time, George W. Bush, tried to cut combat pay for soldiers serving in the wars he lied to get the country into while reaping obscenely huge profits through his company, Haliburton, to which the government he was running awarded generous no bid contracts to supply said wars.

Even I as a peace activist and an anti-military person was appalled by this move.

And never mind that many of our military personnel, mostly the low ranking “ground pounders” (translation: the people who get shot at, killed), need Food Stamps to be able to feed themselves and their families. See the preceding paragraph for my reaction.

Interestingly enough Hannity did not cover any of these points in his interview with Dick, prompting me to leave out the noun “news” in my description of the network because a real reporter would have at least mentioned at least one of them, a good one would have mentioned two of them and a reporter that understood the function of journalism as the “Fourth Estate” would have covered all three. Of course s/he would also have an FBI/NSA/CIA file in place before the interview was done.

Just when you think we could not look like a bigger horse's patooties in front of the rest of the planet we have Secretary of State John Kerry commenting on CBS's “Face The Nation” on Putin's invasion of the Ukraine: "You just don't in the 21st century behave in 19th century fashion by invading another country on completely trumped up pre-text," - condemning it as “an incredible act of aggression”.
Does he not remember Iraq? Afghanistan? Does he know about what US drones are doing to innocent people in Yemmen? Pakistan? Afghanistan? There is not a saddle blanket in the entire world big enough to cover this horse's butt.
Prompted me to write a song - (sung to the Tune of Where have all the Flowers Gone?”)

Where has old John Kerry gone?
Long time passing.
Where has old John Kerry gone?
Long time ago.
Where has old John Kerry gone?
Retrieving his medals everyone
Looks like he never learned.
Looks like he never learned.

Finally within the last 24 hours we have Senator Diane Feinstein. Ahh Diane. It was all well and good for the CIA/NSA/FBI spying on regular Americans - that was for our “safety”. But the party's over when they're spying on YOU.

They're not even putting the energy into pretending anymore. What's worse is so far, they don't have to.

Shut up Dick.
Shut up John.
Go to hell Diane.
