Unfortunately, commitments to both the job and my family makes it impossible for me to devote the time I believe is necessary to make this blog a productive part of the Web site.
I have to give kudos to the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors for even considering a show of support for state legislation that would require drug tests for anyone applying for or receiving public assistance.
My father and I got to be so good and moving either myself or my two sisters over the years that we came to refer to ourselves as the Robarge Family Moving Company.
Voters in the Corinth, Duanesburg, Schoharie and South Glens Falls central school districts gave the thumbs up to spending plans after rejecting initial proposals a month earlier. Voters in those districts were fortunate to even have the opportunity, however; many area school boards chose to avoid a second vote after their proposals were shot down back in May.
Even though I have been to dozens of "real" major league games, baseball's annual Hall of Fame Game remains very special to me. It's a shame local kids who can't afford to travel to New York or Boston are no longer going to have this opportunity to be introduced to the game and have at least one baseball memory to cherish for a lifetime.
I can't tell you how many times (including just last night) I've been caught behind a big rig on the winding roads of the area, unable to drive anywhere near the speed limit or to get past him and on my way. It's frustrating, but it's an unfortunate cost of doing business -- or, more appropriately, of HAVING business.
