Scott Morlock is no longer the interim weekend sports anchor at WXXA (Ch. 23). He is now the permanent weekend sports anchor.

Morlock was promoted to the position Monday by news director Gary LaPlante. Morlock, who has been with the station for nearly 10 years, replaces Brent Martineau, who left the station in February for a similar position in Jacksonville, Fla.

Morlock started out as an intern at WXXA. He worked his way up from photographer, to producer and to reporter. He anchors the Sunday night “Fox Fast Track.”

It is a well-deserved promotion.
