ESPN, NBC to televise U.S. Open's final round
For the first time in 26 years, the U.S. Open golf championship is extending to Monday for completion of the final round.
Darkness halted play in Sunday's final round. ESPN and NBC will combine to show the remainder of the final round on Monday.
ESPN and ESPN HD will tee off coverage at 9 a.m.. NBC takes over at 11:30 a.m. NBC's coverage can be seen on WNYT (Ch. 13) and WNYT HD.
The last time a Monday was needed to complete the final round was in 1983 at Oakmont. This is just the third time in U.S. Open history that this has happened.
