Bailen named team MVP at RPI hockey banquet

RPI senior defenseman Nick Bailen was named the team's Most Valuable Player and Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the RPI hockey banquet Friday night.

Bailen led the Engineers in scoring with 12 goals and 19 assists. He was named to the ECAC Hockey first team and was named first team All-America. A business and management and economics major, Bailen has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.88.

Senior captian CJ Lee won the Ben Mayo Most Inspirational Player.

Sophomores Luke Curadi and Matt Neal and freshman Travis Fulton shared the Most Improved Player Award.

Sophomore defenseman Curtis Leonard won Best Defensive Player, goalie Jason Kasdorf garnered Freshman of the Year. Kasdorf won ECACH Rookie of the Year.

Senior Marty O'Grady earned the Community Service Award.
