Matt Wilkins scored a power-play goal with 36.8 seconds left in the third period Saturday, giving Union a 3-2 victory over RPI in the inaugural Mayor's Cup game at the Times Union Center.
Wilkins was going to the net when Josh Jooris sent a pass from the right wing. Wilkins tapped it past Kasdorf to snap the 2-2 tie.
Wilkins drew the power play when he was interfered by RPI defenseman Nick Bailen after dumping the puck into the Engineers' zone.
The game was tied, 1-1, after two periods. Greg Coburn broke the tie early in the third period. Mark McGowan tied it for RPI with 4:24 to go.
RPI outshot Union, 37-20.
