Original Six Stanley Cup final pits Blackhawks against Bruins

With the Chicago Blackhawks eliminating the defending Stanley Cup-champion Los Angeles Kings with a 4-3 double-overtime victory on Saturday night in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals, we are set for the first Original Six Stanley Cup finals since 1979.

The Blackhawks will face the Eastern Conference-champion Boston Bruins starting Wednesday night. The last time there was an Original Six Cup finals was in 1979, when the Montreal Canadiens faced the New York Rangers.
