RPI's Bailen signs with Rochester Americans

The Rochester Americans have signed RPI defenseman Nick Bailen to an amateur tryout contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Bailen, a first-team All-ECAC Hockey, had 12 goals and 19 assists to lead the team in scoring this season. He finished with 105 career points, which included his freshman season at Bowling Green.

Bailen is a native of Fredonia, so he will get to start his pro career near his hometown.

The Americans will play at the Times Union Center against the Albany Devils on consecutive Sundays (April 7 and 14). Maybe Bailen will get a chance to play in those games.
