Nanne commits to RPI hockey for next season
RPI has received a commitment for next season forward Louie Nanne of the U.S. Hockey League's Sioux Falls Stampede.
Nanne's brother, Tyler, announced it on Twitter late Thursday night.
"Congrats to my brother @lounanne11 on committing to RPI! So proud of you, nobody deserves it more than you! Love you kid! #HardWorkPaysOff"
The 19-year-old Louie Nanne, a native of Edina, Minn., originally committed to play at Minnesota, but pulled out of that commitment a few months ago.
Last season, Louie Nanne had 19 goals and 22 assists in 45 games for the British Columbia Hockey League's Penticton Vees.
Louie Nanne has yet to play for Sioux Falls. He is recovering from double shoulder surgery. In September, when he announced that he was decommitting from Minnesota, Louie Nanne told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he expects to be ready to play by December.
Louie Nanne is the grandson of Lou Nanne, who was a player and later general manager of the NHL's Minnesota North Stars and played his college hockey for the Gophers.
