NCAA hockey tournament regional times, TV schedule set

The NCAA hockey tournament East Regional will be returning to will be returning to a Friday-Saturday schedule after playing a Saturday-Sunday slot last season.

The NCAA announced the dates for the four regionals, as well as the TV schedule and ticket information, on Tuesday.

The East Regional semifinals at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn., will be Friday, March 28, at 2 and 5:30 p.m. The final is Saturday, March 29, at 3 p.m. ESPNU will televise the semifinals, and ESPN2 will have the final.

Last March, the East Regional semifinals in Providence were played at 5:30 and 9 p.m. Saturday, and the championship game was 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Midwest Regional at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati will be March 28-29. The semifinal games will be on ESPN3 at 4:30 p.m. and ESPNU at 8 p.m. The championship game is 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU.

The Northeast Regional at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass., are March 29-30. The semifinal games will be on ESPNU at 4 p.m. and ESPN3 at 7:30 p.m. The final will be on ESPN2 at 5 p.m.

The West Regional at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., will be March 29-30. The semifinal games will be on ESPN2 at 5:30 p.m. and ESPNU at 9 p.m. The championship game is on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m.
