ValleyCats outfielder Fisher named to NYPL All-Star Game
Tri-City ValleyCats outfielder Derek Fisher has been added to the New York-Penn League All-Star Game's North Division roster, it was announced Sunday.
Fisher, who is batting .336 with one home run, four doubles, two triples and a team-leading 14 stolen bases, was selected by the Houston Astros with the 37th overall pick in June's MLB First-Year Player Draft. He joins 'Cats infielder Nick Tanielu, catcher Jamie Ritchie, and relief pitcher Ryan Thompson on the team. Fellow outfielder Bobby Boyd was originally selected to the squad, but was promoted to the Single-A Quad Cities River Bandits last Sunday.
The NYPL All-Star Game is Tuesday in Brooklyn.
