2014 Stanley Cup playoffs predicitions: Second Round
I had an awful start to my NHL Stanley Cup first-round playoff predictions. I was a mediocre 4-4.
My Philadelphia Flyers disappointed me, again, but they did take it to seven games against the New York Rangers. Maybe if goalie Steve Mason didn't miss the first three games with a concussion and the Flyers didn't play a lousy second period Wednesday night, they might be playing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round.
I did pick three series right on the nose. Boston beat Detroit in five, the Penguins eliminated Columbus in six and Chicago ousted St. Louis in six. I would have had four right if San Jose didn't blow a 3-0 series lead to Los Angeles.
Now, it's on to the second round. I promise to do better.
Montreal vs. Boston — Boston in 6.
N.Y. Rangers vs. Pittsburgh — Rangers in 6.
Los Angeles vs. Anaheim — Los Angeles in 7.
Minnesota vs. Chicago — Chicago in 5.
