School Lacrosse: Rule change
Substitution procedure was among several changes recently approved by the National Federation of State High School Associations Boys Lacrosse Rules Committee.
Starting in 2014, during stoppages of play due to an out-of-bounds ball, a horn will no longer be sounded to allow time for substitutions. Instead, players may substitute on the fly as they are allowed during normal play.
Substitutions can also occur during at the end of a period, after a goal is scored, during injury time out, during an equipment adjustment, after a time-serving penalty, and during a team time out.
