School Notes: Polsinelli scores two

Guilderland High School graduate and Siena College-bound Stephen Polsinelli scored two goals to help Freedom defeat Spirit, 16-9, in the bronze medal game Friday at the US Lacrosse-sponsored Champion All-American Showcase in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Kyle Abdellatif, a Stony Brook commit and senior-to-be at Ballston Spa High School, competed for Spirit. The defensive midfielder scored a goal when Spirit beat Freedom Wednesday, 10-9, in the round-robin portion of the event which was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Pride edged Liberty in Friday’s gold medal game, 11-10, when Blake Bordeau (Bishop Guertin, N.H., Marist College) won a faceoff and scored just six seconds into overtime. The contest was televised live on ESPNU.

Pride went 4-0, Liberty and Spirit both went 2-2, and Freedom finished with a 1-3 record. The showcase featured over 90 of the nation’s best players from the 2013 and 2014 graduating classes.
