School Notes: Kramer's record

By James Schiltz
Saturday, July 27, 2013

Jim Kramer recently stepped down as the varsity football coach at Schenectady High School after a four-season run with the Patriots.

His 2009 and 2012 teams both won six games and advanced to the Section II Class AA semifinals. The six wins are the second-highest total in the history of Schenectady football, which fielded its first team in 1988. Coach Carm DePoalo’s 2008 Super Bowl runner-up team went 8-2 for the varsity team’s most victories.

Here’s a look at Kramer’s four seasons (19-17). Note that eight of Kramer’s losses were by seven points or less, including a controversial Week 2 setback at Shenendehowa in 2009, and a another controversial defeat at Shaker in last year’s sectional semifinals.
