Garden City (Section VIII, 19-3) pulled away from a 3-3 halftime tie with six unanswered goals and defeated Jamesville-DeWitt (Section III, 20-2) for the state Class B banner, 13-8. Cody George had five goals and an assist as Garden City claimed its second straight New York crown and sixth overall.
Garden City edged Niskayuna on a Dale Stasco goal with two seconds left, 10-9, in Wednesday’s semifinals. Niskayuna entered that game at 21-0, which included a win over Jamesville-DeWitt.
Cazenovia (Section III, 22-2) rallied from an 8-3 deficit late in the second quarter to beat Bronxville (Section I, 22-2) for the state Class C championship. Ryan Cook notched five goals for Cazenozia, which earned its second state title in three years.
