Boys hoop: Cremo closing in

By James Schiltz
Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Scotia-Glenville junior forward Joe Cremo crept a little closer to the school’s all-time scoring lead for boys’ basketball with a 23-point effort against Gloversville Tuesday night (Feb. 4).

Scotia-Glenville (12-0, 15-0) won the contest, 70-47, and clinched its second straight Foothills Council championship.

Cremo has 1,147 points for the school’s No. 3 all-time total behind Terell Winney (2011 graduate, 1,157 points) and Terrence Coppola (2005 graduate, 1,307 points).

Cremo is averaging 26.6 points, and has scored at least 21 in every game with a high of 33 against Newburgh Free Academy. Cremo, who as a sophomore was named a Daily Gazette All-Area first-teammer, recently gave a verbal commitment to the University at Albany coach Will Brown.
