We don't cover much pro baseball at the Daily Gazete, but the Tri-City Valley Cats put on a great show.
I'm on vacation this week, and I decided to make my fifth trip in the last couple of seasons to watch the Valley Cats Tuesday night.
Granted, the 'Cats aren't playing very well right now, but it doesn't really matter. If you like baseball, and enjoy watching Class A prospects show you a glimpse of the future, the Valley Cats are for you.
The prices of tickets are extremely low, most ranging from $4 in the grandstand to $10 behind home plate. Plus, the food is great and also low-priced.
Plenty of promotions are always going on for the kids or the young at heart.
I enjoyed the game, even though the Cats lost to Vermont. The score didn't really matter. It was a perfect night to watch baseball and do some cheering. As a sportswriter, I can't cheer in the press box, but in the stands, all rules are off.
Check out the Valley Cats at beautiful Joe Bruno Stadium.
