BC 2012 Saturday picks

By Michael Mac Adam
Saturday, November 3, 2012

After the Friday fiasco, I'm going three deep for the Saturday Breeders' Cup picks. To sum up, two of my picks were scratched, including Super Ninety Nine in the first race, the Juvenile Turf. I found this out on Twitter in the afternoon while running around Saratoga Spa State Park covering the Section II cross country championships.

Tweeted an alternate, South Floyd. From SPAC Parking lot, I called in a lasagna order to the Pizza Works in Glenville at 3:24, picked it up at 3:45, bet the early double in the parking lot on my phone using South Floyd, pulled in to the Gazette at 4:06 (post-time) believing the BC would be a few minutes behind schedule, and, in fact, they were.

Rush upstairs to the newsroom, gate opens, search for South Floyd ... no South Floyd. Late scratch. So we're going three deep today. I got skunked in the other five races; the lasagna was delish.

Juvenile Turf: ARTIGIANO, Noble Tune, Gervinho
Filly & Mare Sprint: GROUPIE DOLL, Dust and Diamonds, Turbulent Descent
Dirt Mile: JERSEY TOWN, Emcee, Shackleford
Turf Sprint: CHOSEN MIRACLE, Reneesgotzip, Unbridled's Note
Juvenile: TITLE CONTENDER, Shanghai Bobby, Power Broker
Turf: POINT OF ENTRY, Slim Shadey, Optimizer
Sprint: COIL, Gantry, Trinniberg
Mile: WISE DAN, Mr. Commons, Obviously
Classic: MUCHO MACHO MAN, Game On Dude, Ron the Greek

Good luck, everybody!
