Sunnyview expanding to Latham

Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital will open a new outpatient physical therapy site in Latham Farms next month, the third outpatient site for the St. Peter's Health Partners affiliate, according to a news release issued today.

The center, known as Sunnyview Therapy Services, will be located next to Hannaford at 579 Troy-Schenectady Road and will offer the same advanced outpatient physical therapy services available at Sunnyview's Schenectady site. These include a combination of manual therapies, various treatment modalities, exercise and education that helps patients improve mobility and function, and help manage pain.

The new center will treat patients with a variety of conditions, including orthopedics/sports injuries, stroke, neck and back pain, neurological disorders, vertigo, multiple trauma, post-surgical rehabilitation following joint replacements, shoulder/elbow/hand surgeries, rotator cuff surgery, hip/knee/ankle surgeries and back surgery. Professional staff will tailor a treatment plan that meets a patient's individual needs.

Sunnyview's two other outpatient sites include Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital at 1270 Belmont Ave. in Schenectady and Carman Medical Arts at 3757 Carman Road in Guilderland.

An open house for the public to meet staff and tour the center will be held March 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information, contact 382-4593.
