A global engineering firm is adding its fourth location in New York with plans to open at One Commerce Plaza in Albany in March.

T.Y. Lin International, an infrastructure consulting firm with more than 50 offices in the United States and Asia, plans to hire several people in its first year in Albany. Positions will include engineering, architectural, technical and administrative staff.

"This new office, an expansion of our Facilities Group, represents our latest investment in the upstate economy and continues our commitment to delivering innovative design services across New York state," said Facilities Group Director Jim Krapf, in a news release. "Furthermore, having a local presence will improve the relationships we've established with many state agencies and give us better access to additional stakeholders and decision makers."

A grand opening celebration will be held March 7 at the Twin Towers, located at 99 Washington Ave.

TYLI's other New York offices include Buffalo, Rochester and New York City. Some projects completed by these offices include a rehabilitation of the Civic Center Plaza in Rochester, the Norfolk-Southern Railroad Bridge in West Seneca, and the Port Authority and Second Avenue Subway projects in New York City.
